21 years in the making

Today my wife and I celebrated our 21st wedding anniversary. You don’t realize what a big deal it is, until you look at the divorce rates, especially in the LGBTQ+ community. My biggest fear since coming out was that I would lose my wife, that she won’t accept the change. But to my astonishment, once again, I am privileged to be with someone who’s capacity for love has not wavered in the slightest.

Not only do we celebrate 21 years of married life, she actually re-proposed. To Charlie! To her wife! I was floored. It was so very unexpected. So very affirming.

I am looking forward to another 21 years with the only soul on this blue marble who truly understands me, and fully accepts me regardless of anything that may stand in our way.
