The photo on the left is over 13 years ago … long before I even knew the term transgender.

I use to go through phases of growing my hair … then cutting it … then growing it again. My clothing would similarly adjust, from masc to more metro to femme.

I had no idea how to present, just that I never felt totally comfortable. Was I heterosexual? Was I gay? What if I realized back then what I know now?

@suddenlysamantha said it best in a recent live stream. It doesn’t do well to dwell on the past and ‘what if’ scenarios when it was obvious I was not ready yet. Things happen when it’s supposed to. And as much as I wish my transition started much earlier, I know now that it could only happen now … when I was ready.

Take your time. Don’t rush. Everything happens in life exactly when and as it is supposed to.
